Buying scheme to help save on energy bills open for applications in Wiltshire and Swindon
Wiltshire Council is offering people living in Wiltshire and Swindon an opportunity to save on energy bills and generate electricity by getting solar panels, battery storage or electric vehicle charge points, whilst also helping the council’s ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions across the county.
Solar Together is a group-buying scheme which enables households to group together to buy solar panels at a discounted price. The more people that take part, the better the price.
The scheme is open for applications until 11 August 2023. Registration is free and applicants receive a personal recommendation for a provider and costs, with no obligation to go ahead and buy.
The first scheme, launched in 2022, is on track to deliver over 700 installations in Wiltshire, totalling more than 6,000 solar panels and resulting in a £6 million investment by residents into the green economy.
