Royal call up for ICB People Manager
BSW ICB Strategic People Manager Dee Runciman will be busy this weekend participating in the coronations of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla in Westminster.
Dee’s full time job is working as part of the BSW People Team, but on Saturday she will take part in two processions accompanying Their Majesties to and from Westminster Abbey, where the Coronation Service takes place.
She will be one of 96 Royal Air Force Reserves participating in the procession, representing the 32,000 reservists who currently serve in the UK.
Dee has been an RAF reservist for nine years and is an RAF mover involved in planning, loading, travelling with and offloading, vehicles and cargo on military aircraft.
She says preparations for the parades have been gruelling, but she is really looking forward to taking part.
“This has been really hard with long days averaging 14-16 miles of marching as the coordinators fine tune the RAF parade.
It is a huge honour for every one of us to participate in this historic event. It will be a memory for myself and one for my children and grandchildren to speak of in the future.”
The Coronation of their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla takes place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey. On Sunday, May 7 there is the Coronation Big Lunch at which neighbours and communities are invited to share food and fun together. Also on that day is the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.
The extra bank holiday on Monday, May 8 provides an opportunity to join The Big Help Out, encouraging people to try volunteering for themselves. Further information about the national Coronation events can be found here: Official Royal Coronation Weekend Guidance and on the interactive map.
