Royal United Hospitals Bath Host Sustainability Day
The Royal Rnited Hospitals (RUH) Bath NHS Foundation Trust held an inaugural Sustainability Day recently to provide colleagues with an opportunity to share their environmental sustainability projects and inspire other teams to take action. The event was the culmination of months of planning by a staff-led group with representatives from different departments including Sustainability, Theatres, Stroke Ward, The Coach House and Communications.
The packed agenda included presentations on recycling, nhaler recycling and a “Rub Not Scrub” initiative from the theatre team
Attendance and enthusiasm for the sustainability agenda remained high throughout the day, with teams from right across the organisation engaged in conversation and debate.
Georgia-Rose Gleeson, Sustainability Officer at the RUH said:
“Our Earth Day event was really insightful and a great success. It was inspiring to hear so many passionate individuals from across the organisation talking about their sustainability initiatives and being unafraid to asks questions about their barriers they face when working towards sustainability. We are looking forward to hosting this event again next year!
“What a brilliant way to engage colleagues from across different departments in the RUH with the sustainability agenda, and we can’t wait to see more positive progress off the back of the day. You can keep up to date with all the latest sustainability work ongoing at the trust here.”
