Salisbury Hospital Community Engagement Event – 26th September 2024

Health and care professionals working in Salisbury and further afield in BSW have the opportunity to attend a community engagement event as part of the Trust’s work to reduce healthcare inequalities.

The event takes place on Thursday 26 September from 3 – 4.30pm at Odstock Health and Fitness Centre at Salisbury Hospital. It aims to bring together community healthcare partners who support, work with, or have regular contact with patient groups or people who struggle to engage with healthcare providers.  These patients can include those with learning difficulties or long-term disabilities, members of the armed forces community, traveller/boater communities and or those with socio-economic challenges.

This specific event will raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of Upper Gastrointestinal cancer (oesophagus, stomach, small bowel, pancreas, gall bladder and liver). Empowering carers and our community partners with knowledge of ‘Red Flag’ signs to encourage patients/clients to contact their GPs, who can where necessary, make an onward referral to secondary care.
