Wanted: people with a lived experience of Autism to co-deliver Learning Disability and Autism training
The BSW Academy team are looking to recruit people with lived experience of Learning Disability and Autism to help deliver new Oliver McGown training.
The mandatory training is named after Oliver McGowan, whose tragic death in 2016, highlighted the need for better training, skills and knowledge for staff in caring for people with learning disabilities and autism.
The training has been co-designed and co-produced by people with lived experience and is now the standard training across health and social care.
Training is currently underway across BSW, and the BSW Academy team would like to hear from people with lived experience of Autism who are interested in being trained as a trainer.
Time and travel will be paid for and hours are highly flexible.
