New website offers public advice for emergencies

The government has launched a new website offering emergency preparedness advice and information.

The Preparedness website, which can be accessed at is designed to help people prepare for emergencies, be more informed about hazards, and get involved in activities to support themselves and their community before, during and after an emergency.

The site contains lots of useful information including tips on how to prepare for an emergency, how to be more informed about different hazards, how to check risks in the area you live in and how to get involved in volunteering and supporting your community.

The new website also contains specific advice for disabled persons and carers.
