Public invited to have say on the future of Wiltshire’s pharmacy services
Wiltshire Council is seeking views on a new document that will help to identify the current and future need for local pharmaceutical services.
The draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is a statutory document produced by the Wiltshire Health and Wellbeing Board, which assesses pharmacy provision and whether the right services are being provided for local people, both now and in the future.
This latest draft covers the three-year period between 2025 and 2028.
Although technical in nature, the document is based on the findings of a recent public survey, which attracted almost 1,500 responses.
The statutory consultation on the draft PNA is now open and runs until Friday 15 August.
People can get involved and have their say via the Wiltshire Council website.
Cllr Ian Thorn, Chairman, Wiltshire Health and Wellbeing Board, said: “It is important that people have access to pharmacy services near them and at times that suit their varying circumstances.
“The draft PNA provides a picture of our pharmaceutical needs in Wiltshire and how we should move forward with plans so that people have the opportunity to access information, advice and medicine when they need it.”
Wiltshire’s Health and Wellbeing Board is expected to consider the final version of the PNA at its meeting on Thursday 25 September.
