BSW Together is how organisations come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people who live and work in the ICS area.
An Integrated Care System, or ICS, brings NHS providers, local authorities, community providers and voluntary sector partners together to collaboratively plan and organise how health and care services are delivered in their area.
The aim is to deliver better, more joined-up and consistent health and social care for people and to improve population health, reduce health inequalities and enhance workforce planning.
The Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire, or BSW for short, ICS, has a population of almost 1 Million people and covers more than 1,500 square miles. Our area includes cities, market towns, and large rural areas.
In our area, we have many organisations that work together to deliver health and care services: 2,800 Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises; 88 GP Practices; two Mental Health Trusts; three local authorities; an ambulance trust; three acute hospitals: Royal United Hospital in Bath, Great Western Hospital in Swindon and Salisbury Hospital; and other NHS, community and independent providers.
BSW Integrated Care Board
The Partnership Board provides the formal leadership for the BSW Partnership and is responsible for setting strategic direction, providing oversight for the achievement of the Partnership’s strategy, and providing a forum where Partners make decisions together.
The Partnership Board has a membership that is drawn from our constituent organisations, is led by a non-executive independent Chair, and is made up of clinicians and managers from across the constituent organisations to enable the implementation of agreed system wide changes.
In the near future, the Partnership Board will meet regularly in public and members of the public will be welcome to attend as observers to find out more about the BSW Partnership, our progress, and plans for the future.
Details of all upcoming Partnership Board meetings in public can be found on our News and Events page. The agenda and papers for each meeting will be published on the relevant event page one week before each meeting. If you’d like to observe a meeting of the Partnership Board, read our guide for observers (pdf, 117KB) and contact bswicb.partnership@nhs.net to register.
