Hospitals working together across BSW to lead innovation

The BSW Acute Hospitals Alliance (BSW AHA) has seen hospitals in Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire work closely together to tackle local challenges, improve patient outcomes, and enhance resilience.

The Alliance is made up of Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon, the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Bath and Salisbury District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Earlier this year NHS England announced its new Provider Collaborative Innovators Scheme, which aims to accelerate providers working together for the benefit of patients.

The Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire Acute Hospital Alliance (AHA) was announced as the only collaborative from the South West to form the first wave of innovators.

The new Innovators scheme recognises the critical role that providers play in helping systems like the BSW Together Integrated Care System deliver better care.

You can hear the Chief Executives from our three hospitals in BSW talk about some of the work the AHA has done so far and their ambitions for the future of the Alliance in this video: Our Acute Hospital Alliance
