BSW APC is a joint partnership working with advisory committees from Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust; Salisbury Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG; Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust; Wiltshire Health & Care Partnership NHS Trust; HCRG care group; Swindon Community provider and other providers commissioned to provide NHS services by any of these organisations.
BSW APC is committed to improving engagement with its stakeholders and clinicians.

The BaNES/Swindon/Wiltshire Area Prescribing Committee (BSW APC) serves the BSW health communities by improving the safe and effective use of medicines, and driving cost effective prescribing across its member organisations.
The core functions of the APC are:-
- The assessment of which medicines are recommended for use locally and the maintenance of a joint BSW formulary.
- Classification of medicines under the traffic light scheme.
- Development and approval of shared care guidelines.
- Supporting the development and implementation of evidence-based prescribing guidelines.
