Mental health and wellbeing
Mental health problems can affect any of us. It is estimated that in any one year, one in four adults living in the UK will experience at least one diagnosable mental health disorder.
Having good mental health helps us relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more.
Evidence suggests there are five steps you can take to improve your mental wellbeing and help you feel more positive and able to get the most out of life:
- Connect with other people
- Be physically active
- Learn new skills
- Give to others
- Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness)
Visit the Every Mind Matters website for more information.
The below video, created and produced by Create Studios, explains how looking after our mental health is MAGIC.
Mental health at work
If your mental health difficulty is related to stress at work, you can ask your employer what occupational health services are available to you.
Check out the Time to Change website, which has a section dedicated to employers.
