Understanding inequalities

The materials in this section outline what inequalities are, and how these inequalities affect health. The e-learning module for NHS staff offers an introduction to health inequalities which will be relevant to all practitioners in the United Kingdom, as well as an overview of NHS England and Improvement’s Health Inequalities Improvement Programme. In the module on leadership, a number of approaches to tackling health inequalities at various levels of influence are examined, and with a focus on practical actions to make a difference.
